Navigating Career Gaps with Confidence: LinkedIn's Career Break Feature

Did you know that LinkedIn has a feature that lets you add a career break to your profile? It's pretty awesome because it gives you the opportunity to explain those periods of time when you took a pause from the workforce. And the best part? It's all about normalizing career breaks for various reasons. Talk about a cultural shift! 🙌

I'll walk you through it step by step on how you can take advantage of this feature. Let's dive in!

Step 1: Log in to LinkedIn and head over to your profile page.

Step 2: Look for that "Add profile section" button just below your profile picture.

Step 3: Select the "Career Break" option from the dialogue box. This is where you get to highlight those meaningful moments in your professional journey.

Step 4:  Fill out the details of your career break; share only what you feel comfortable with sharing.  If your career break is for professional development, career transition, or voluntary work - adding context would likely be beneficial for you to include.

Step 5: Once you're done, hit that save button and voila! Your LinkedIn profile now proudly showcases your career break with all the context it deserves. 🎉

So, my friend, go ahead and put that career break on your LinkedIn profile.

Keep in mind that the screenshots might look slightly different as LinkedIn evolves, but the process will remain pretty similar.

Until next time!
