#CareerCrush: Meet Lisa Pelletier, a Registered Psychotherapist and Certified Sex Therapist

Welcome back to our final edition of #CareerCrush. This series has been an exploration and celebration of women who have successfully intertwined their passion for romance into their professions. Throughout this journey, we've discovered numerous love-inspired careers, each unique and inspiring in its own way. Today, we're wrapping up this series with a fascinating conversation with Lisa Pelletier, a registered psychotherapist (RP) and a certified sex therapist.

Lisa's work is an empowering blend of psychotherapy and sexual education, helping individuals embrace themselves and communicate their sexual desires effectively. "My job entails helping people to learn to accept themselves, have the types of sexual experiences that feel good for them and to better communicate this with others. It also entails lots of sex education and permission," she reveals.

Lisa's passion for human sexuality began back in 1977 when she took her first course on it in Cegep, Quebec. What most considered a joke or an easy course, Lisa found incredibly fascinating and complex in its nature. The course sparked a curiosity in her that led to a BA in Psychology and an MSc in Couples and Family Therapy and Human Sexuality. She says, "I am fascinated by love, romance, and sexual and erotic energy. I have LOVE WINS tattooed on my hand. Love in all forms is all that matters."

Her work is fueled by a deep-seated desire to help people. She finds joy in being part of her clients' healing journeys and enjoys providing them with the tools to be more playful in their lives. But her work isn't all about pleasure. As Lisa mentions, one surprising aspect of her job is dealing with pain, loss, and shame. However, she also notes that her work can be light-hearted and even silly at times, reflecting the diverse range of human experiences around sexuality.

Lisa's career is a testament to how love and passion can be woven into professional paths in unexpected yet profoundly fulfilling ways. Her dedication to helping others embrace their sexuality and love in all forms showcases the power of love-inspired careers.

And with that, we wrap up our #CareerCrush series. We hope these stories have inspired you, opened your eyes to new possibilities, and perhaps even encouraged you to pursue a career you'd fall head over heels for!
